Amul dairy has reduced production of regular fat butter by 25% . This shortage could not be covered up its major competitor Britannia , Mother Dairy .Branded butter s market is around 16000 tonnes and Rs1000crore in value .Amul has a market share of 90%.

- People turning to branded butter after major news on adulterated ghee and butter
- Festival season which start from August and ends only after New year celebrations has caused huge demand on butter manufacturer .
- Normal increase in demand for butter as spread for rotis , parathas , bread etc .
